At 80 years old, after a life as a teacher and housewife, Nidia begins taking singing lessons in Argentine tango with Juan Villarreal—50 years her junior—who is quickly charmed by her personality. As their bond deepens, she starts performing in bars around Buenos Aires, allowing the artist who had long lived within her to finally emerge. Through her relationship with Villarreal, we are reminded that the creative spark knows no age, and that tango—as music and as connection—can transform lives at any moment.
This screening is part of the film series DocumenTANGO, presented in the context of Stockholm Pugliese Weekend.
